It was Microsoft's decision to make Windows XP "obsolete" and nobody else's.

But Microsoft has decided not to let me use Windows XP for Internet activities anymore, so I am forced to downgrade to the new broken version of their software if I want browser functionality. I still use Windows XP on all my computers that are not connected to the Internet with no issues and no difficulties, with lots of programs that are much older than Word Perfect, because when you have something perfect, there is no reason to "fix" anything. Yes, that is a Microsoft problem, and only an imbecile would really believe otherwise. I have been using Word Perfect 11 since 2003 and it still works great with Windows XP, but Windows 10 broke something that keeps my fully functional program from working anymore. It's better not to offer any comment at all than to make ignorant, useless replies like this to someone in need of solutions. I will revert to Windows 7 on my desktop, if I cannot get WP installed running 10. I have long felt that Word Perfect is far and away the best word processor. I do not guarantee my experience was the same as yours might be. I only found this thread while seeking a solution to my desktop problem. The only difference is that it was installed on the laptop at the time of upgrade to 10, but not on the desktop at the same time. For some reason WP will not complete the install on Windows 10. OK fine, that's why I have CD's right - not for WP it turns out. To complete this the techie claimed he had to reformat my C-drive wiping out all the programs stored there.

However, I had to replace the motherboard on my desktop. After the upgrade, WP continues to work just fine. I used the free upgrade to Windows 10 offer on my laptop, where Wordperfect was installed and working just fine. Wordperfect 12 is included in this office suite. I had Wordperfect Office 2000 installed on 2 PC's: my laptop and my desktop, both running Windows 7.
